LG launches cost-conscious touchscreen caller30th September 2008 12:54 GMT
If you’re going to claim that your latest touchscreen mobile’s the "most affordable" one in the UK, then stating its price is a good idea. LG, we're looking at you. According to the firm, the KP500 is “the most affordable full touchscreen handset in the UK”. Register Hardware’s not sure how LG measures affordability, because phone prices are often subsidised to make them free when bought with a contract, or conversely, ludicrously expensive when bought unlocked. ![]() LG's KP500: the UK's cheapest touchscreen phone. For example: “It operates across four frequency bands,” will mean the phone’s quad-band GSM compatible. A mention of the on-screen Qwerty keyboard being able to slide between horizontal and vertical will also mean that there’s an accelerometer on-board. However, LG did confirm that the KP500 features handwriting recognition, motion sensor-based gaming, a stylus and an “intuitive” user interface.
