Vodafone confirms HTC Android 2.1 duo
Legend and Desire coming to network
Vodafone has flagged up the forthcoming release of HTC's Android-based smartphones Legend and Desire on its network next month.
Legend will come with Vodafone's 360 content and social networking portal pre-loaded. Like Desire [1], it has a 5Mp camera and an on-board GPS pick-up, but Legend's [2] display is just 3.2in to the Desire's 3.7in screen. Desire also has a faster, 1GHz processor - a Qualcomm Snapdragon [3], to be precise.
Both handsets will run Android 2.1 [4], aka Eclair.
Vodafone [5] didn't say whether the handsets will be offered with pay monthly packages, as PAYG phones or both.
The network is still listing the much-anticipated Google Nexus One [6] as "coming soon" - so no firm date for the smartphone's release yet, we're afraid.
Both Orange [7] and 3 [8] have already said they will offer the Desire next month. ®
